Nearpod
Being a part of this class this semester has opened my eyes to all of the amazing web tools that are out there. There were so many to choose from I found myself checking out all of them until my teacher-friend sent me a text asking if I have ever used Nearpod. I told her no and her response was I needed to check it out! Once she sent me that message it was a no brainer, I chose Nearpod.

What is Nearpod?
Nearpod is an interactive classroom tool for teachers to engage students with interactive lessons. A teacher can create presentations that can contain interactive features such as Virtual Field Trips, 3D Objects, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content, Quizzes, Polls, Open Ended Questions + more!
You can create your own lesson or you can choose from thousands of free or paid lessons from expert educators and our educational partners. You can also customize any lesson to fit your students’ needs. How it works is teachers share a live session, students enter a code, and the lesson is synced to all devices.
You can evaluate student responses live or with post-session reports you can also view student answers individually or as a class and generate post-session reports with one click. Nearpod creates an inclusive and engaging learning experience by allowing students to actively participate in every lesson.

Here are some more useful resources on Nearpod

Your post is very thorough! Thanks for the information on Nearpod. I explored Nearpod a little, but was deterred when I saw the $2.99 listed under videos. I didn't really explore much after that, but seems like I missed out. I love that you can customize lesson plans for individual students.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you including case studies about Nearpod. As we learned in our previous class, it's important that we use research-based tech tools. I wonder if any schools pay for Nearpod videos/lesson plans?
Thanks for sharing.
Amelia,
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Nearpod before this. It seems like an extremely useful tool! I think anything that makes a lesson interactive and engaging helps students' comprehension of the content. It is great to have a tool that allows lessons to be more personal- even when they are not being given in the classroom. It is nice that they have an abundance of templates ready to use. Too often, we do not have a lot of extra time to create additional lessons so it is nice to have those to go to. Thank you for your very detailed post and demonstration!
